Just a few thoughts on the local church:

* It was God’s idea not man’s idea
* Christ purchased the church with His blood (Acts 20:28)- I think that means He thinks pretty highly of the church
* It is the vehicle that God has chosen to work through to reach people
* You can’t be up on Christ and down on the church
* The church is the bride of Christ (Ephesians 5)
* What would you think if I told you that I liked you but I didn’t like your spouse
* If you are going to love Christ then you will love His bride
* The church is made up of imperfect people and that is absolutely no reason not to participate, in fact, that is why you can participate.
* The church is the hope of the world – nothing else is!! Not government, education, etc…
* If everybody in the church was like you what would our church look like and what kind of impact would we be making in our community?
* Watching tv preachers requires no service, no giving, no accountability, no fellowship, etc… It is NO replacement for church!
* If everyone practiced prayerful, purposeful, planned giving, the church would never have another financial need.
* The church is not the end all for spiritual growth. We are responsible for our own growth.
* The church ought to be the most exciting place in town!
* The church must make an impact on its community or it should shut its doors!
* Church can be a messy place and so is every other place where there are humans.
* The church is not a building it is the people.
* The church is a Theocracy, not a democracy or a dictatorship.
* God loves the church and we should love what He loves.
