On the way home tonight I was rejoicing over all that God did this weekend. It was just one of those weekends!

Thrilled to se our church living out our vision of guiding people to life chamge.

Love meeting guests who were wowed with their worship experience – to God be the glory!!

Was so proud of our students who served as summer missionaries for Youth in Action

Looking forward to what God is going to do through our Bible Club at Rymfire Elem this year. Please pray for our great team of volunteers.

We had a tremedous Group Link event tonight as we prepare to launch our upcoming semester of groups. We started new groups and added people to groups already in existence. Our volunteer team served our guests in a great way!!

Love seeing people connect to God’s people and God’s Word!

I have reaaly enjoyed preaching through the first 4 chapters of Romans this Summer.

This weekend we drilled down on Romans 4:6-8

Our sins are sent away, our sin are covered and our sins are not imputed (credited to our account) to us.

9:30 service was packed again today. I would ask you to please consider coming on Sat at 6pm

Excited about seeing what God is going to do this Fall

We are getting real close to getting our building permit. Our building team and finance team have done a wonderful job in leading this charge. Thanks!

Don’t forget to park your heart before the Lord this week. Live out of the overflow!

Loved kicking off our fall season with a great weekend

Met several new friends

Thankful for all those who started attending this Summer – so looking forward to getting to you

Enjoyed preaching about our spiritual schizophrenia

Romans 7:18-25 Romans 4:1-4

The skin that I am in let’s me down often – it only verifies why I need a Savior

Our 9:30 service was jammed – our weekend attendance was great

Loved having the Mark Patton family from Hungary as our special guests

Thank you Parkview family for making the Pattons feel so welcome

We announced that we were going to give a gift to their ministry but asked our church to consider giving a gift to their 4 children

We placed a plate at the back door and your generosity resulted in each child receiving $200. You gave almost $800 – we rounded up. I wish you could have seen the kids faces as we told them of their gift.

Our mission of guiding people to life change is both a local and a global mission

Please pray that we receive our building permit soon – we really need to get started with our expansion

After applying for permit we received the City’s comment back and last week we resubmitted for our permit – hope it will be soon!

Looking forward to an incredible Fall.

We resubmit for our building permit tomorrow. Pray we get our permit soon.

If we were not expanding soon, I would probably lead us to four services in the Fall.

More seats at prime time are much needed.

The worship team did a great job – Laura’s song was really good.

I am very thankful for all the people who have served to help launch Christ the King Community Church in Port Orange. I understand that we have had about 25 people serving the Lord in that missions opportunity! Continue to pray for Scott Kirschner and his family!

Be blessed and have a great week!

Denise and I were talking this afternoon about how everyone made us feel so missed. In such a loving way, so many people expressed how glad they were to have us back. We felt cherished and treasured.

The faithfulness of our church has been so encouraging! Thank you for being faithful in your attendance, ministry and giving.

Our staff once again showed why they are such an amazing team.

This has been our best summer giving ever! Thank you for investing in life change!!

Dr. Randy Poyner spoke this weekend and did a wonderful job, each service just kept getting better. I forget how old he is at times – he told the last service that he is 74. What a privilege it is to watch his ministry produce such fruit at his age!

I believe I counted 15 people raise their hand saying they trusted Christ this weekend. I can’t wait for us to be able to follow up on those decisions and help them on their new journey of faith.

What a great response to the preaching of God’s Word!!

We have 36 jr. campers at Word of Life camp this week! Please be faithful in praying for them!

So excited about so many things coming our way!

Next weekend I will be giving a building construction update.

Tomorrow begins a re-energized conditioning program. I only ran once while I was on vacation.

The only down side to vacation is that it takes me out of my routine. I realize that is a good thing but I am also a person who likes a certain degree of routine.

Last night I was so excited about things that I could hardly sleep. Hope I find it easier to get to ZZZZZZ tonight.

I love my job!!!!!

We had a very nice Discovery Pointe luncheon with new friends.

Had a missionary guest visit our 11 am service. I had him and his family stand. I then shared a little about their minstry and we took a spontaneous offering for them. The offering totaled just over $550! Thank you so much for your generosity!!

I am always impressed with the diligance and excellence by which our volunteers serve! THANKS to everyone who is partnering with us to take turf for the Kingdom.

Please be sure to pray for your “three” as they attend Big Stuff this weekend.

God is doing some awesome things at Parkview.

Thank the Lord that we received our Development Order and are applying for our Building Permit Monday morning!!

Have a God-filled week!

God is good!

Really good!

Really enjoying preaching verse by verse this summer through the first 4 chapters of Romans.

I love the way our people respond to the preaching of God’s Word!

I always love preaching at Parkview – well, except for the times that I just feel like I do a lousy job.

I said this weekend that I am a hypocrite.

Hypocrisy is condemning in someone else what I am excusing in my own life.

Done that way to many times in my life!!

It is always easier to see another person’s tooth pick while missing my telephone pole.

To stop judging others is hard – to start judging ourselves is probably harder.

There are 2 categories of sin: My sin and your sin. Your sin is always worse.

Forgiveness is conditional. God doesn’t forgive if we don’t confess.

There is no statue of limitations on your sin – God doesn’t just forget about your unconfessed sin because a certain amount of time has passed.

I was very straight forward in speaking about the fact that some people don’t want close relationships in the body of Christ because they don’t want anybody pointing out the blind spots in their life. They would rather run people off the road with no accountability.

I think all of us could use a little more accountability in our lives – I know I could.

Really looking forward to our July 3rd event.

We really don’t quite know what to expect for our first event of this kind!

Be sure to invite your friends.

5 is when the food and fun starts

7:15 is our service. We will worship in song, prayer, testimony, giving and preaching. It will all have a patriotic theme – In God We Trust.

Fireworks will be shot off at dark.

Today was a long day but a good day

I started with a 3 mile run and then a swim with Seth at 7:30 this morning.

We got home tonight at just after 11pm.

In between we went to 2 Parkview services, lunch with some new dear friends from church, drove to Jacksonville to hear a friend preach, out to dinner after and then home.

It was a good God-filled day.

Seth and Denise were able to really enjoy themselves with friends.

The Lord is good.

It is now just after midnight – good night!

One last thing – thanks for letting me be your pastor.

Loved so much about the weekend!

God was at work and His Spirit was moving!

Great to see some returning guest families!

The video was great – honoring my dad and challenging all dads to be the hands of Christ.

Darren Peterson read the piece that was written by his dad and Derek did a great job producing the video.

It is sad to me how on Mother’s Day, all that moms want is their family to go to church with them and on Father’s Day, many dads think of things to do so they don’t have to go to church.

We had our lowest attendance of the year on Father’s Day weekend and about 125 less people than we had just the weekend prior.

That grieves me!

I am extremely grateful for the 80% of men in our church that were in church with their wives and children.

It is one thing to talk it and it is another thing to model it!

It reminds me as go the men so goes the church.

It reminds me to speak more directly to the men of our church.

Although it was hard, I really enjoyed preaching Romans 1:18-32.

One of the reasons I love preaching at Parkview is because our church family loves truth.

In almost 13 years, that was the first time I ever taught on the passive wrath of God – Romans 1:24,26.

I had another first this weekend – it was the first time I ever pulled a muscle while preaching. Pulled the muscle from my neck to my shoulder in the 9:30 service. If you were present, you can probably guess when I pulled it. This would be very funny if it wasn’t killing me. Wasn’t bad yesterday, but a night of sleep made it alot worse!!

Felt it was helpful as we talked about our envy toward the pleasurable sin of others or our “white-knuckling” our faith until rewarded in glory.

I am so grateful for the privilege of pastoring Parkview

I loved my own personal experiences on Father’s Day!

Seth decorated the house with streamers and wall signs and a balloon.

Denise bought me some very nice pants that didn’t fit in the waist – I refuse to go to the next size, so I am officially on a weight loss regimine.

God is a Father who is beyond words!!!!!!!!!!

Alot of great preaching – I personally was particularly blessed by Andy Stanley and Matt Chandler.

Really was great how the Lord worked it out for me to do both and both were in Orlando!

Missed my weekend wrap up - now it is Monday night at 7pm.

It was a bell to bell weekend both Saturday and Sunday.

Love leaving it all on the feild.

Got to lunch with Denise today and am getting ready to work outside with Seth tonight.

Had a good membership brunch this weekend.

Our new Bible Fellowship class went very well from all the reports I heard.

Our 5 summer womens Bible studies are off to a good start – ladies are still signing up.

Great to see so many people connecting in group life.

Our LIFE groups (which are groups that stay together and just continue to choose studies for the benefit of the spiritual growth of group members) and CLASSES (which are one time groups that gather for a specific study, ie. parenting, finances, book study, etc.) follow a Fall and Spring schedule. It is great to see some special summer studies and our new Bible Fellowship group doing so well.

Growth takes place best in the context of community!

Had several other meetings this weekend and they went well.

There are a number of things that are happening that will remove some growth barriers for us.

Right now the most important lid to be removed is our space constraints.

I am thankful for the leaders that are keeping our building project moving forward.

Things are happening every day to make construction happen.

Be praying as we near applying for our building permit.

Really excited to be in our summer series, Magnum Opus

Romans is Paul’s magnum opus, his greatest work.

Romans is the greatest epistle by the greatest apostle.

Looking forward to preachiing through the first 4 chapters verse by verse this Summer.

At the very beginning of Summer and our guest numbers are very strong. It is exciting to see people visiting who are actually moving to town.

This is the time of year that young families move to town.

Parkview family – let’s be sure that we go out of our way to be friendly and connect with people!!!

It is Memorial Day and we are just chillin’. We slept in, Denise made a great breakfast and we played a few games of twister. We have some plans for later in the day.

So thankful for all our active military, veterans and especially for those who made the ultimate sacrifice!

“It is foolish and even wrong to mourn that such men died, rather we ought to thank God that such men lived.” General George Patton

It was a great weekend to honor our men and women who served!!

I saw one vet wipe the tears from his eyes as he was standing.

We had a tremendous Memorial Day weekend.

Love remembering the sacrifice of so many.

Love remembering the One who made the greatest sacrifice ever, Jesus Christ, through the celebration of communion.

Met some great new families!!!

We gave out our 5,000 door hangers for our Epic Outreach!! Thanks so much to all who participated! I spoke to one family yesterday who had already given out 200!!!

Can’t wait to launch Magnum Opus!! I am praying this will be our best series ever!!

Really believe we can grow this summer!!

Our ladies ministry is offering 5 different Bible studies this summer. They are offering saw awesome studies! For more info email denise@parkviewlife.com.

Beginning Sunday June 6th, at 9:30am we are offering a Bible Fellowship class. The class will be led by Bob McGill and will be a great time of learning and fellowship. Email john@parkviewlife.com for more info.

I really enjoyed preaching through II John the last 2 weeks.

Our Christian lives ought to be a beautiful balance of truth and love.

When our relationships are only characterized by love we become doormats and we end up with resentment and anger stuffed down inside.

When our relationships are only characterized by truth we become lonely. We alienate others because we are more about “laying down the law” than we are about “laying down our lives”

Truth and love should be balanced.

When truth and love are in conflict and push comes to shove – truth must prevail.

Truth cannot exist outside the context of love.

Where there are lies, deceipt and compromise, love cannot survive much less thrive!

Boundaries are truth that is layed out because we love.

I absolutely love preaching to the people of Parkview!!

God has given our church such a great opportunity in our county!

I am so excited about the expansion of our auditorium!

The steel structure has been ordered and now it will be desinged and fabricated. That takes approx. 6 weeks.

Got to run, Seth wants to build an indoor fort.
